Michelle Friel

Michelle began her career in the features department of Scottish Television working on STV’s flagship shows including Scottish Women, Wheel of Fortune and Funhouse.

She joined BBC Scotland in 1999, where she became a director on entertainment and factual programmes such as Top of the Pops Saturday and Children in Need as well as observed documentary strands including Tales from the Edge and Teen Commandments.

Michelle went freelance in 2004 working with Lion Television on Stepfamilies for BBC1 and STV's children’s hospital documentary series, Yorkhill, before setting up Friel Kean Films in 2005.
